Unless Square Peggy is ready for the Golden State Juvenile Fillies on November 2nd at Santa Anita she will be running on opening day of the Del Mar Fall meet on Nov. 9th. The Juvenile Stake carries a purse of 200K and is restricted to Cal-bred's so this was our first choice but Peggy got a fever and lost a couple of weeks so it is doubtful. The opening day Allowance race at Del Mar is our next option and the 5 1/2 furlong distance is actually more appealing than the 7 furlong Juvenile Stake. She will tell us when she is ready and we will go from there. Cupid's Claws will be the next to go to post in a MSW race going a mile on the turf. He is coming off a strong 3rd place finish at the level and we expect him to move forward out of that race. Unless Steph Being Steph ships back to Laurel Park for the 100K Safely Kept Stake she will run on Nov 16th in a 6 1/2 furlong Allowance race at Del Mar. We love the fact the Safely Kept is at 7 furlongs and is restricted to 3 year old's it is a long way to ship for 100K. Conditioner Brain Koriner and Blinkers On will make a final call shortly.
In other racing news...Our highly regarded 2 year old Violence filly, Rose Dunn, continues to impress in her training and it looks like she will be ready to make her first start in December. Stakes placed winner First Dudette, Angels and Devildogs and our big boy, A Man's Man, ship in from the farm next week and could make their starts by year's end. That would be about the same time as our 2 year old Smiling Tiger gelding, Don'tteasethetiger, is expected to debut. Grinningeartoear continues to rest a sore shin.
Finally, our stable's new yearlings have begun their training at Legacy Ranch. These are Cal-bred fillies by Shackleford and the hot new sire Cross Traffic. Both are training forwardly and are expected to be top performers in the Cal-bred ranks. Limited shares are still available if you are ready to make the move from spectator to owner.
