The partners in our horse racing partnership love this time of year. Getting to watch your horse compete "where the turf meets the surf" is pretty special if it's in your blood! Starting on 8/7, Plane Lucky goes for two in a row at Del Mar in a first condition allowance race for Cal-bred fillies and mares. There is a juicy 65K pot up for grabs and if our filly can clear she could be gone, she is awfully quick! Our next runner may be Jet Ski on 8/12 at Del Mar. Coming off a 4th place finish in his debut at Pleasanton (125K Stake) he will try Cal-bred maiden special weight foes going 5 1/2 furlongs. The 5 1/2 may be too short. He is a big, long striding colt that really needs more ground. His full brother Poshky is a G3 route winner and his full sister, Out of the Ordinary, just broke her maiden going long on the grass at Del Mar. Next up on 8/13 is Decoded. Our 2 year old filly will be making her first start in a Cal-bred maiden allowance race going 5 1/2 furlongs at Del Mar. She has been training very well and should have a good shot. On 8/14 at Santa Rosa Right Hand Man will try and become a stakes winner in the Cavonnier Juvenile. Right Hand Man was an impressive first out winner at Santa Anita and he is awfully quick. He should be really tough in that spot. At Del Mar on 8/17 Look Me in the Eye will team up with Rafael Bejarano in a 25K claiming race. This should be a good spot to earn his second win. We move back up north to Golden Gate for a race on 8/19, opening day of their meet. Gee Street will be up in a maiden allowance race for 2 year old fillies. She has a big turf pedigree and we think she will really like Golden Gate's synthetic surface. Most turf horses do. Last One Standing is ready to run but has no race. He has been entered multiple times at Del Mar and the race hasn't filled. We are hoping for the extra to fill for 8/11. I'm not holding my breath! Finally, the newest member of our stable, Gator Don't Play, is ready for his first breeze in about a week. Our 2 year old son of Decarchy is a handsome boy!
