Blinkers On enjoyed a successful Del Mar summer meet and now we move on to Los Alamitos, Santa Anita and back to beautiful Del Mar for the fall meet. Our next runner to go to post at Los Alamitos is Square Peggy in the $100,000 Barretts Debutante for 2 year old fillies going 6 1/2 furlongs on 9/15. She is coming off a smashing win at Del Mar, owns the best speed figures and looks like the speed of the speed. She will be a short price in this small field. Peggy will come out of the 2 hole with regular rider Tiago Pereira in the irons. Good luck to the Blinkers On Partners! The following day at Los Alamitos our stakes winner Right Hand Man will shoot for his 5th win in 11 starts in an open allowance race going 5 furlongs. Salty field but he is training great and there seems to be plenty of speed to flatter his off the pace style. Leading rider Fuentes will be in the saddle to enjoy the ride. When we move to Santa Anita stakes winner Steph Being Steph will try the turf for the first time in the $75,000 Unzip Me Stakes going 6 1/2 furlongs on the downhill turf course. We have always wanted to try her on the turf, she has a brother that has won on the turf and a number of Majestic Warrior's have had success on the weeds. Also, this will be one of the last chances to run against 3 year old's only. The next horse in the blocks will be Cupid's Claws, very impressive in his debut and training great. Looks like he will be tough 2nd time out. He is a 2 turn grass horse and the problem is they didn't write a MSW race going long on the grass in the first book at SA so we may call an audible and ship to Golden Gate. First Dudette will resume training on 9/18 so we will have her back in stakes action in the next 90 days or so. Rose Dunn, our beautiful daughter of Violence, is back in the Koriner barn and is on the same 90 day time table. She is with Don'tteasethetiger, a 2 year old in training also at Los Alamitos. Two year old's A Man's Man and Grinningeartoear are both huge horses and will make their appearances on the racetrack as late 2 year old's or early 3 year old's.
In other racing news...the Blinkers On horse racing partnership purchased 2 Cal-bred fillies at the Barretts Select Yearling Sale. The first filly acquired was the filly sale topper, an outstanding individual by Shackleford. She is from the family of Wise Dan and is built like a rocket. We were very excited to land her! The 2nd filly we added to the stable is by the leading first crop sire in NA, Cross Traffic. We feel she was a terrific buy and we hope to add to the success of a new sire. Partnerships are forming now on both of these outstanding fillies. You can check them out by clicking the offerings tab on the website. Good luck at the races!
