Island Freedom will make his first start at Los Alamitos this Friday in a 5 1/2 furlong sprint. It's taken our big guy some time to get to the races but now he's ready to go. Island Freedom drew the rail and Joe Talamo will be in the irons. It is the 2nd race on the card with a 2:30 post, good luck Freedom!
In other racing news... Our undefeated, 3 time stakes winner, Red Outlaw, is being pointed to the 100K California Flag Handicap on 10/18. This race is going 6 1/2 furlongs on Santa Anita's downhill turf course, the place he earned his first stakes win. We are also looking at the G2 200K Twilight Derby going 1 1/8 on Santa Anita's turf course on 10/31. True Visionary will also make his next start at Santa Anita in October, we are still trying to figure out where we stand after he was gelded. Humming Beethoven ran a game 2nd at Golden Gate on Sunday, her 3rd start in 6 weeks. She has 2 wins and a 2nd in those starts and deserves a little breather. Racing doesn't resume at Golden Gate until 10/15 so the timing for a little R&R is perfect. Kiss at Midnight continues to train forwardly for conditioner Peter Miller. He threw some blinkers on in her in her last work an he said it really got her focused. She should make her first start in the next 60 days or so. Salute to Summer will make her next start at Santa Anita. She had a legit excuse in her first start, we found out an infection was starting in her left leg after the race. We expect an improved effort next time out. Off the Deep End and Goose Bumps are getting a little break on the farm. Finally, Blinkers On will be attending the Barretts yearling sale on 10/7 and we plan to be active.
